Guy is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.). Guy formed ENGraphted
Inc., an engineering consulting firm, in 2000 where he is currently
working. His primary fields of practice are industrial engineering,
environmental work, controls and automation.
Guy grew up in a farming community in Israel and his technical tendencies
surfaced early on when he graduated a technological high school in the
fields of electricity and electronics. He later attended a 2-year mechanical
engineering college in Israel, and completed his bachelor degree in
mechanical engineering in the US.
Military service: Guy served in the IDF for 4-years of active
duty and for 5-years of active reserve before moving to the US.
In the US Guy worked as a drafter while attending engineering school,
and graduated the University of South Alabama with a BSME degree in
1993. Guy began his engineering career in a small used oil reclamation
facility where he was hired to lead the construction of a new recycling
facility. As the Project Manager, he worked with the owner to developed
facility layout and handled construction bids from dirt work to concrete
and buildings. He later designed and oversaw the installation of the
multi-tank storage, transfer, and processing facility with its equipment,
and worked with industrial contractors to commission the piping and
electrical work. Later as the Plant Engineer for the facility, he managed
all plant processes, maintenance, and related personnel, while continuously
handling capital projects.
For career advancement, in 1998, Guy took a position in a mid-size
environmental corporation. As Project Manager, he designed and executed
projects through the company-owned ASME fabrication facility. The nature
of the projects centralized around large-scale activated carbon technology
for both contaminated water and polluted air streams for municipalities
and for industrial facilities. The equipment revolved around pressure
vessels, piping, structural steel, and later included complete skids
with pumps, blowers and automation. Occasional projects incorporated
other types of granular media such as anthracite, sand, and ion exchange.
After becoming a Product Manager, Guy developed a standardized product
line for CETCO 'filtration group'. The filtration group was later acquired
by Barnebey Sutcliffe, a division of Waterlink, and today is a part
of Calgon Carbon Corporation. After a move to the Barnebey Sutcliffe corporate
headquarters, Guy decided to venture as an independent
consultant.
Since 2000, Guy has been working as an independent Consultant Engineer
and Project Manager. As such, he has been involved with a variety of
projects for the environmental, industrial, and municipal sectors which
he is very familiar with. Among these are plant expansions and modifications,
municipal drinking water systems, feasibility studies, environmental
impact assessments, industrial controls and automation, process equipment
specification and integration, development of technical literature
and operating procedures, and more
